Scottish man creates brilliant project to 'Bankrupt Trump'

A SCOTTISH man has created a website that provides alternatives to US and Russian made products and services.

The so-called "Bankrupt Trump" website is being advertised on Reddit as a response to the US president's actions over the past few weeks.

The founder, a man who says he's from Fife, wrote: “Trump is a fud. I made a website so you can buy less US stuff.”

Following US president Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance government’s decision to halt aid to Ukraine, the Scot created the service that allows visitors to type in their usual product and be provided with alternatives that originate from outside the US and Russia.

The website also includes a donation portal to support Ukraine.

The website’s pledge reads: “Bankrupt Trump was founded in response to alarming developments in international politics that have raised serious concerns about global security. Our movement emerged after it was reported that the US had restricted arms shipments to Ukraine – a decision that many argue has left the world more vulnerable in these uncertain times.

“Our mission is to offer ethical alternatives for conscious consumers, particularly in the UK, the EU, and across the globe. By empowering individuals to make informed choices that align with their values, we hope to pave the way for a safer and more transparent world."

It goes on: “We are a community of engaged citizens dedicated to accountability, transparency, and responsible decision-making.

“Following the US having halted aid to Ukraine, JD Vance reiterated his stance on Ukraine and was accused of besmirching Europe’s ability to defend the nation.

"If you want real security guarantees, if you want to actually ensure that Vladimir Putin does not invade Ukraine again, the very best security guarantee is to give Americans economic upside in the future of Ukraine.

"That is a way better security guarantee than 20,000 troops from some random country that hasn't fought a war in 30 or 40 years.”

Vance (above) responded to the accusations as “absurdly dishonest".

Boycotts of US products have become a popular means of protest for Canadians after Trump’s comments regarding their potential annexation, and social media support for a European protest of US goods has garnered attention in the past week.
