SCOTTISH Labour have delivered campaign leaflets for an upcoming by-election in Scotland misspelling the word "Scottish".
Voters in Fife's Glenrothes Central and Thornton ward are set to go to the polls to elect their next councillor on April 24.
But Scottish Labour delivered a leaflet to residents across the ward with the glaring omission in the first line, which reads: "Your Scotish Labour candidate for the Glenrothes Central and Thornton by-election Maciej Dokurno".
Dokurno is to attempt to gain the seat from SNP after councillor Ross Vettraino OBE passed away in February.
The resident who sent the leaflet to The National said his mother, a former teacher, thought it was "embarrassing and unprofessional".
They added: "This is obviously just a silly error but it is alarming that it managed to get printed like this. Imagine it will be very difficult for the branch to reprint as well given low budgets allowed in a council by-election."
Scottish Labour have been approached for comment.
One SNP source said: "An easy mistake given [Morgan] McSweeney demanded Labour HQ burn all dictionaries to stop disgruntled staffers looking up the definition of austerity".
