Hotel and leisure group Manorview has shared £162,479 among all staff who have worked at the company for more than 12 months.
A total of 389 employees will benefit from the Heartcount Profit Share Scheme, which sees the business take 10% of net profits and share it equally with qualifying team members.
The scheme was introduced by the business, which owns and operates 11 hospitality venues, in 2017. But this is the biggest amount to date that has been shared.
Managing director David Tracey said: “We’re on a mission to make hospitality a better industry to be part of – so it felt absolutely right to find a way to share our profits with our incredible team.
“Though we started in 2017, this year is the biggest amount we’ve ever shared – almost double previous years' in fact.”
One of the key aspects of Heartcount, is that the amount each person gets is calculated based on hours worked, instead of on their job role or pay.
“Why should a manager or director get more profit share than say, a kitchen porter or housekeeper, when their job role is just as critical to business success?” said Tracey.
In 2021, the business removed performance-related bonuses, with Tracey explaining: “We believe that no one person is ever solely responsible for success.”
To mark the occasion of the profit share, all team members were invited to an expenses-paid party at SWG3 in Glasgow on Wednesday evening. All venues closed for the evening so everyone could attend.
Established in 2007, the Manorview Group is responsible for venues including Boclair House, Bowfield Hotel, The Busby, Brisbane House, Bothwell Bridge, Cornhill Castle, The Commercial, Lynnhurst, The Redhurst, The Torrance and Innishmohr.
