A Scottish woman has spoken of the 'horror movie' moment a drug-fuelled knife thug attacked her in the middle of pitch-black woods.
Ocean Richardson was only 20 when she was repeatedly stabbed by Martyn Logan during an attempted murder bid near a dark country road in the Scottish Borders on March 6, 2020.
Ocean suffered devastating injuries as a result of the terrifying attack including a fractured eye socket and stab wounds to her body, hands and head. Dad-of-three Logan, 32, was jailed in 2022 after pleading guilty to an attempted murder charge and endangering the life of Ocean's friend Max Yates.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Ocean says that she suffers from PTSD as a result of the attack after Logan pounced on her with an 11.5cm blade. Ocean and Max had agreed to give Logan a lift home before the 'horror show' took place.
She said: "Martyn was a family friend, so when he asked for a lift I didn't see a problem. I knew he was taking loads of steroids, but he seemed alright that day. But during the drive he asked we could stop at the woods so he could pick up some sort of stash and he asked Max to go with him."
Ocean said she had been sat waiting in the car for around 20 minutes when Max reappared covered in blood.
She continued: "There was no sign of them for a while, but then Max came running up the road. He was bleeding and Martyn was chasing him. I jumped out the car and Max was shouting that Martyn had a knife and that he had stabbed him.
"Then he turned on me with the knife. It was like a big kitchen knife and I was grabbing at it with my hands, trying to protect myself. I could feel it slicing my hands open."
Terrified Ocean and Max scrambled back to their car and jumped inside before locking the doors, but Logan had swiped the keys from the ignition. The brute then smashed through the driver's side window and stabbed Ocean in the face and head - this time piercing the blade into her brain.
Ocean recalled: "I had reached down to start the car then realised the keys were gone. Seconds later he smashed the window in and started stabbing my face. Then he stabbed me right through the head."
Max then attempted to pull Ocean out of the passenger door, but Logan lunged again, striking her face with the blade and fracturing her eye socket.
The pair eventually ran off and attempted to hide in some long grass nearby, but Logan quickly found them and plunged the knife back into Max's head and body before speeding off in their car.
Ocean later managed to make her way to a nearby house before collapsing in the hallway soaked in blood.
Ocean added: "I remember lying there in the dark, trying to hide and stay quiet. All I could think was that I was going to die. We were in the middle of nowhere at night and we didn't know how we would get help."
Paramedics rushed Ocean and Max to the Borders General Hospital where Ocean's family were told to prepare for the worst due to the severity of her injuries. She received 100 stitches in her hands, face and head.
Three years on, Ocean has battled back to reclaim her life, but has been left unable to work as a result of constant seizures from her brain injury that have left her with life-long epilepsy.
She also suffers from PTSD, flashbacks and recurring nightmares about Logan luring in dark corners of her bedroom, as well as struggling with everyday tasks such as washing and eating as she awaits further surgery on her hand and eyelid.
Max sustained multiple stab and slash wounds in the attack which required surgery and blood transfusions. He has been left scarred for life.
During Logan's trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, lawyers told how he had developed a reliance on steroids and other drugs, and that his motivation for the attack "came from nowhere."
Logan was sentenced to 12 years in prison after Lord Arthurson condemned his action as an "episode of extreme instrumental violence."
To this day, Ocean still does not understand what triggered Logan to try to kill her, but said she hoped that telling her story would help her to process her trauma and give other victims of violent crimes the courage to do the same.
She said: "I want to know why he tried to kill me. I tried to get an explanation but he just would never say why. That makes me feel angry. I want him to go through the suffering and trauma I'm dealing with - every time I see the injuries I have been left with.
"But I know it is better for me to speak about it than to keep it in my head. He tried to kill me, but I did not die. I want to tell people that I made it. I'm still here."
