THE harbour in Irvine has been flooded as a result of Storm Eowyn.
A red weather warning has come into force for much of central and south west Scotland with the Met Office saying there is a “danger to life”.
Images showed that the harbour in Irvine, North Ayrshire, has been flooded.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued a number of flood alerts and flood warnings.
The more severe warnings are in place in the following areas:
- Ayr to Troon (Ayrshire and Arran)
- East Luce Bay (Dumfries and Galloway)
- West Luce Bay South (Dumfries and Galloway)
Wider regional flood alerts meanwhile are currently in place in 10 areas across all of Scotland.
This includes:
- Argyll and Bute
- Ayrshire and Arran
- Caithness and Sutherland
- Dumfries and Galloway
- Orkney
- Shetland
- Skye and Lochaber
- West Central Scotland
- Wester Ross
- Western Isles
