A LUXURY hotel and golf resort has revealed plans to build 30 lodges on the estate's woodland grounds.
Mar Hall Hotel, Golf, and Spa Resort have announced they have submitted proposed plans to build 30 high-end lodges, which range from one to four bedrooms, on the 240-acre woodland estate grounds.
The site for the proposed lodges would overlook the River Clyde and will also have views of the Kilpatrick hills.
The proposed lodges are to be full of “rustic charm” and will each have an outdoor hot tub on a terrace with a log burner indoors.
Each lodge will also come equipped with its own set of bicycles allowing guests to explore the grounds and neighbouring Luss Estate.
Joe Gallacher, general manager at Mar Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort, said: “We are on an exciting journey of transformation across the Resort to materialise its luxury potential.
“We’ve already completed significant improvements which our guests and members have experienced first-hand in recent months, and it’s fantastic to progress the next stage of our redevelopment by submitting the planning as part of our ambitious vision for the Resort.”
The lodges will help expand the current room count of 70 to 129 at the hotel.
Mar Hall Hotel, which is the only five-star hotel in Renfrewshire, was saved from closure in December 2023 after Dubai-based Dutco Group bought the business.
The announced lodges follow the news earlier in the year of a £15 million investment package by the Dubai-based investors as promised to refurbish and expand the hotel.
The multi-million-pound refurbishment has already commenced with a new leisure suite already unveiled, which included a state-of-the-art gym, a 20-meter swimming pool with saunas, and an outdoor thermal suite.
Being just a short car journey from Glasgow Airport Mar Hall Hotel is a popular destination for many tourists.
The hotel has previously even hosted many famous faces including Beyonce, Brad Pitt, and Harry Styles.
