Scottish former Love Island star Laura Anderson 'vulnerable' after Gary Lucy split

Former Scottish Love Island star Laura Anderson has hit out at online trolls following her recent pregnancy announcement.

The 33-year-old is expecting her first child with former Hollyoaks actor Gary Lucy, despite the pair recently announcing their split. The couple met while filming the most recent series of Celebs Go Dating.

Laura recently said she feels "vulnerable" following the announcement and has received a barrage of nasty messages and comments online. She told her 1.5million Instagram followers that anyone posting negative comments would be blocked.

The Record reports how Laura announced she was expecting her first child with Gary on February 15 following weeks of speculation regarding their relationship.

Following her pregnancy announcement, Gary confirmed to The Sun that they had separated, although he remains focused on co-parenting for their child.

He said: "I love Laura but we are no longer together. My main drive as always is to work together to co-parent our child. I look forward to the arrival of the new baby."

After noticing many negative comments on her profile, many concerning her ex-partner, Laura told fans she would instantly block those guilty, adding that she is not a 'victim even in my vulnerable state'.

She wrote: "If anyone writes anything negative on my page re my pregnancy you will be blocked. Nobody on here except my friends and family knows the reality regarding the past few months of my life because I don't comment on press articles or give details of any other party.

"I will never play the victim even in my vulnerable state. I'm simply moving on with my life with my head held high. I do not appreciate abuse at a time I am trying my best to protect myself and my unborn child. Please think before typing."

Taking to social media last week, Laura shared a video montage of her baby bump, which included several snaps of Gary, and wrote on Instagram: "Our hearts are full. Baby Lucy due Summer '23."

Gary commented on the sweet montage: "There she is. So very proud of you Mummy Bear. Cooking Baby Bear perfectly."
