Scottish firm enters administration with all staff made redundant

ALL members of staff at a Scottish building firm have been made redundant after the firm went into administration.

The workers of Logie Glazing and Building Services are set to lose their jobs after the long-established firm announced its collapse.

Based in Dundee, the firm confirmed 16 jobs will be lost after it faced cashflow challenges.

The business, which has been operating for more than 50 years, revealed it had suffered from skyrocketing costs in the construction sector.

The Courier reports that current inflation has led to pressure on profit margins.

However, it was unable to resolve its financial difficulties despite trying to find alternative sources of income.

The firm worked for both private and public sector clients across Tayside and Fife.

Joint administrators Blair Nimmo and Geoff Jacobs from Interpath Advisory announced the news on Thursday.

They added that they are working with staff and offering them support.

Speaking to The Courier, Nimmo said: “Logie Glazing was a very-well established business.

“Like many in the sector and despite the director’s best efforts, was unable to withstand what continues to be a very challenging trading environment.”

Jacobs added: “We will be providing support to those employees who have been made redundant, including providing them with the information required to make claims from the Redundancy Payments Service.

“Any parties who have an interest in the company’s business and assets should contact the administrators as soon as possible.”
