Scottish FA blasted by Tartan Army over Euros ticket delay

The Scottish FA has been heavily criticised by the Tartan Army over the delay of the sale of Euro 2024 tickets.

It emerged this morning that tickets would not be going on sale, as scheduled, for Scotland Supporters' Club members at 12 noon today.

The SFA admitted to an error that saw access codes for purchasing tickets sent out to non-eligible members.

Only those with 12 or more supporters' club points were meant to receive the links ahead of today's sale, however, it's believed those under that threshold also did.

Now, the SFA says the sale of Euros tickets has been delayed until further notice in an email sent out to supporters' club members.

And it's left several members of the supporters' club, and Tartan Army, extremely unhappy.

Taking to X, @DSStrachan wrote: "You had one job. As for the current sales schedule, it’s a joke. It should be revised and done on points exactly as it was for Euro 2020. A farce that some members on 20+ points will end up with a €600 ticket. Totally defeats the point in the entire points system."

@haggart_tracy said: "People cleared work diaries etc for this slot and now potentially in a position where they will be unavailable for a new last-minute slot. How can mistakes of this magnitude be made? The fans deserve better."

@One_F_in_Finn added: "You need to introduce a tiered sales approach; this is unacceptable."

@07NExx lamented: "Time to revise the sales schedule and reward the fans who have traveled everywhere and spent their hard-earned money and offer a designated slot for those on higher points it’s not hard! Or at least it shouldn’t be."

@JamesSmillie6 wrote: "Only Scotland could qualify directly for the first time in 26 years and balls up ticket sales. Fair play."

And @jay_mfc said: "Absolute charlatans. Used to be a great team & cared about the fans, then the on-field success made it clear that you could max out the memberships without having to bother about being remotely competent. Disgraceful."

The email sent out to fans by the SFA this morning read: "Ticket sale delayed. Due to a technical error, UEFA Euro 2024 codes have been sent out to Scotland Supporters Club members who are not eligible to buy tickets at this stage.

"As a result of this error, the sale scheduled for 12 noon will be delayed until further notice when we liaise with UEFA to resolve the issue.

"The Scottish FA would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to supporters at this time. We will communicate further information on the sales schedule as soon it is available."
