Scots EastEnders villain Alex Ferns is completely unrecognisable from his days as 'Britain's most-hated soap villain' in upcoming film The Batman.
The actor, originally from Lennoxtown in East Dumbartonshire, played the role of baddie Trevor Morgan on the BBC soap from 2000 to 2002 before being killed off.
Alex, 53, played the part of terrifying Trevor, who was the estranged husband of Little Mo, who he domestically abused and mistreated until he died in an explosion.
During one of his attacks, Little Mo - played by Kacey Ainsworth, also 53 - defended herself using an iron - which she hit her husband over the head with.
She ended up imprisoned for this, but was later released, as reported in The Mirror.
Following her return to Albert Square, Trevor attempted to kill Little Mo by setting their house on fire, though it was him and one of their neighbours who ultimately died.
During this storyline, Alex played the villain everybody loved to hate but many fans of the BBC soap may not recognise him as commissioner Pete Savage in The Batman.
The actor looks totally different from his clean-shaved role as Trevor in a trailer for the film, with him seen sporting grey hair, a beard and glasses in the DC Comics project.
The character is understood to take issue with colleague James Gordon - played by Jeffrey Wright, 56 - joining forces with the vigilante, as the police investigate murders.
He appears alongside Robert Pattinson, 35, who has become the latest actor to take on the role of Bruce Wayne - also known as Batman - following Ben Affleck 's stint.
It's said to be set during the superhero's second year of fighting crime in Gotham City, as he uncovers corruption whilst pursuing villain the Riddler, played by Paul Dano, 37.
Other cast members include Zoë Kravitz, 33, as Selina Kyle - better known under the alias Catwoman - and Andy Serkis, 57, who portrays butler Alfred Pennyworth.
It's the latest film to feature the masked crusader, with others over the last decade having included the Dark Knight (2008) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
The Batman films in many iconic Glasgow locations, and many fans even speculated that Batman’s famous Batcave lair may even be located “under” the city’s graveyard.
Other locations include around Glasgow Cathedral and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. And Hartwood Psychiatric Hospital in Shotts will double up as Gotham’s orphanage.
Pattinson previously described Glasgow as a “brilliant Gotham.”
The star, 35, said: “It’s not at all surprising to me that Glasgow has become a sort of unofficial Gotham City. When you think of Gotham you think of a wonderfully Gothic city – and that’s why Glasgow works so well.”
The Batman will be released in cinemas on March 4.
