Scottish dad who went missing on camping trip to feature on Channel 5 show 'Vanished'

A Scottish dad who was last seen on a camping trip with friends will feature on a Channel 5 show about Britain's missing people.

Reece Rodger, 28, will be in a segment of Vanished: The Hunt for Britain's Missing on Thursday night. When last seen by pals, he went to sleep in his tent at Loch Rannoch in Perthshire at around 11.30pm on March 18, reports the Daily Record.

The following morning, when he appeared to have vanished from the campsite, his friends contacted police. His mother and devastated partner Paula will feature on the programme, presented by Dan Walker.

Paula posted on Facebook: "Reece’s mum and I will be featuring on the programme Vanished.

"Please tune in and encourage others to do the same. Today has been one of the hardest days yet, but I will do it time and time again if it means I can get you Reece because we don’t just want you, we need you.

"Reece…. We can’t find you but we are doing our very best to get you. Take that as my promise to you."

The dad-of-two is described as 6ft, of medium build with dark hair. When last seen he was wearing a black long-sleeved t-shirt with distinctive white letters on both sleeves spelling out – MA STRUM, black jogging bottoms and black wellington boots.

A major search was launched for the dad, involving Police Scotland's Air Support Unit, the Dive and Marine Unit, police dogs and Mountain Rescue Teams but no trace of the 28-year-old has been found. Police confirmed they are investigating two potential sightings of the missing dad.

On the day he disappeared, a man matching Reece’s description was spotted at around 11.30pm walking between Liarn Farm and Aulich.

A further possible sighting has been reported on Sunday, March 19, at around 8am on the B846 approximately one mile east of Aulich. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in those areas.

'Vanished: The Hunt for Britain's missing' will air at 9pm on Thursday night. Last week the programme featured three other missing Scots - Bushcraft expert Finn Creaney who vanished in March 2022, Rodrigo Falcon who went missing after a night out in Aviemore in December 2022, and Evan Reid from Ayrshire, who hasn't been seen since March 25 when he got off a train Paisley.
