Scottish Cup semi-final draw as Rangers & Celtic are paired together

Rangers and Celtic have been paired together for the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

The Glasgow giants will face each other at the national stadium in the last four of the competition.

In the other team, Falkirk will meet Inverness Caley Thistle. Both teams will be rubbing their hands at the prospect of reaching the 2022/23 cup final.

The draw was made this evening in the wake of Falkirk vs Ayr United.

Inverness booked their spot at Hampden with a triumph over Kilmarnock on Friday night.

Billy McKay and Sean Welsh netted the goals for Billy Dodds' side to kick-start the weekend.

Celtic toppled Hearts to make the semi-finals with Rangers victorious over Raith Rovers in the quarter-finals.

The Hoops' 3-0 win on Saturday was a marker for Ange Postecoglou's side. Aaron Mooy got the league champions off to a flying start, while goals from Kyogo and Cameron Carter-Vickers secured the win.

For Michael Beale's men, they were on easy street at home to Raith. Connor Goldson and Scott Arfield netted, while an own-goal sealed their progression.

Falkirk were the last team into the hat just before the draw with a dramatic 2-1 win over Ayr United.

They went 1-0 down to their Championship opponents, but Callumn Morrison and Kai Kennedy turned the game on its head in dramatic fashion.

The two ties will be played at the end of April at Hampden.

One game will take place on Saturday, April 29 while the second match on Sunday, April 30.

Kick-off times and TV details will be announced in the coming days.
