Motherwell and Hamilton Accies have learned who they will face in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup next month after the draw for the fifth round was made at Hampden this evening.
Former Celtic and Scotland star Shaun Maloney helped make the draw and the Steelmen were the first tie out of the hat, as they were handed an away trip to either East of Scotland League side Linlithgow Rose or Championship outfit Raith Rovers.
Hamilton Accies will be at home after they were given a really tough test against Premiership high-flyers Hearts, who defeated Hibs in an Edinburgh debry today to go through.
John Rankin's Accies edged past Premiership side Ross County 5-3 on penalties yesterday to progress, while Motherwell had a double from new signing Mikael Mandron to thank for helping them sink Championship Arbroath 2-0 at Gayfield.
Accies will be looking to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since the 2016/17 season, while Motherwell are aiming to reach the last eight for the third successive season having lost to Hibs at that stage in the last two campaigns.
The full draw for the fifth round is as follows:
Linlithgow Rose or Raith Rovers v Motherwell
Livingston v Inverness CT or Queen's Park
Dundee United v Kilmarnock
Hamilton Accies v Hearts
Celtic v St Mirren
Cove Rangers / Ayr United v Elgin City or Drumchapel United
Darvel or Aberdeen v Falkirk
Rangers v Partick Thist;e
The ties are due to be played on the weekend of February 11/12.
