Scottish college puts huge city campus up for sale

A SCOTTISH college campus in Fife has been put up for sale.

Fife College campus has been at its Dunfermline site since 1970 and is set to close in the coming months.

The college is set to move to a new state-of-the-art Dunfermline Learning Campus which officially opened in December.

Around 3000 Woodmill and St Columba’s school pupils have already moved into the new building with Fife College due to join them in the coming months.

The old Fife College campus has now been put up for sale ahead of the educational institute moving out.

The 25.5-acre, which is about the size of 16 football pitches, is being advertised by estate agent Montagu Evans but there is no price given for the site.

The online listing said: “Fife College is not obliged to accept the highest or any offer and reserves the right to sell the property without reference to any other party.”

Potential uses for the land have not been revealed by the estate agents as any redevelopment of the site would be subject to planning permission.

The site is currently allocated as a school or further education campus in Fife Council’s Local Development Plan.

The listing added there is a Busy Bees children’s nursery towards the north of the site which will remain in-situ and is excluded from the sale.
