A SCOTTISH city has been named one of the UK's top locations for Michelin star dining.
Edinburgh was named alongside places across the country, including Cumbria and Wiltshire.
The ranked "Michelin star clusters" were praised as promising spots for foodies looking to enjoy an excellent culinary getaway.
Why is Edinburgh one of the UK's top spots for Michelin star dining?
Discussing why Edinburgh was one of the best places for Michelin star dining, The Telegraph highlighted a number of the city's top restaurants.
The new one-star eatery Lyla was the first to be commended by the publication, with it being praised for its "elegant" atmosphere and "experienced" chef and restaurateur, Stuart Ralston.
The Kitchin was also described as a "pricey" establishment with a menu that never fails to dazzle.
Beyond this, the city is said to be home to a number of well-known chefs, including Sam Yorke of Heron on Henderson Street.
He was the youngest Scottish chef to receive a Michelin star, an honour he retained earlier this year.
He has been praised for his ability to blend local larder with Japanese ingredients, allowing him to create "stunning" dishes such as West Coast langoustine, nori, plum and monkfish.
