A SCOTTISH city has been named as the most affordable in the UK for people looking to get on the property ladder.
Researchers with Shepherds Friendly analysed 39 cities across the UK to determine the most affordable to buy a house, looking into the average price of property and the monthly utility costs.
According to the data, there were three Scottish cities in the top 10 named as the cheapest to buy a property.
Dundee took the top spot, with the average cost of a property being £128,250 along with the cost of utilities per month sitting at £186.19.
Aberdeen and Glasgow were named in sixth and seventh place respectively with a house in the former costing an average of £140,000 with utilities of £263.78 per month.
In Glasgow meanwhile, the average house price was £150,125 with utilities expected to cost £280.48 a month.

The same study also named Dundee and Glasgow as among the UK’s top 10 affordable cities to raise a family.
In Dundee, the cost of renting a three-bed home on average per month was around £875 while in Glasgow it was £1225.
