THE Tay Bridge is closed and restrictions are in place following high winds as Storm Eowyn batters the country.
On the A92, the Tay Bridge, linking Fife to Dundee, is closed to all vehicles due to 80mph gusts of wind and above.
This follows the arrival of Storm Eowyn over central and southern Scotland. A red weather warning is in place until 5pm tonight.
The bridge is closed in both directions for cars, buses, trucks, pedestrians and cyclists.

Police Scotland advised to not take the road “in or to the areas affected by the red weather warning”.
The Tay Road Bridge has restrictions in place when winds reach above 80 mph.
When winds reach 45mph, double-decker buses are prohibited from crossing the bridge.
At 60mph, all vehicles except cars and single-decker buses are banned. However, when winds exceed 80mph, as they are today during Storm Eowyn, the bridge is closed to all vehicles.
