A SCOTTISH cake company's "gravity-defying" creation featured at a recent Hollywood film premiere alongside stars Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.
A 10-tier "broken" wedding cake made by Edinburgh-based 3D Cakes was part of the the UK premiere of the new movie You're Cordially Invited starring the pair.
Commissioned for Amazon Prime Video, the cake was transported to London for the event at the London Palladium on Thursday night.
Witherspoon and Ferrell mirrored the poses of the edible cake toppers on the red carpet, standing alongside the hilariously broken wedding cake which is a nod to the comedic mishap in You're Cordially Invited.
Baking the sponges alone took two days, followed by no fewer than 136 hours of intricate decoration by bakers in Edinburgh.
The cake required a custom-built internal support, engineered in collaboration with Breagha Kitchens, to ensure its safe passage from Edinburgh to London.
The entire 3D Cakes team, spanning both their Edinburgh and Glasgow locations, worked to complete the numerous intricate components in just a few days.
The edible figures displayed on the cake took over 18 hours each to complete and will be showcased in 3D Cakes’ store windows in the coming weeks.

"Having it featured at the UK premiere alongside the stars of the film was the icing on the cake!"
