Scottie Scheffler timeline, from PGA Championship arrest to teeing off in Round 2

It’s been a surreal morning at the 2024 PGA Championship, one filled with tragedy and absurdity.

There was a fatal accident in which a man was hit by a shuttle bus, delaying the second round at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville. Then, world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler was arrested, booked and charged after trying to drive into the club to prep for Round 2.

But hours later, the golfer was out there for his scheduled tee time.

Like I said, surreal.

Trying to catch up to all of it? We’ve got you covered. Here’s a look at the timeline from Friday morning after all of that (all times Eastern):

Around 5 a.m. Friday morning: A pedestrian is killed outside Valhalla Golf Club

Per WLKY:

According to LMPD, the man, someone who was working with a PGA vendor, was crossing Shelbyville Road around 5 a.m. Friday. They said he was in a dedicated bus lane when he was hit.

He died at the scene, police said.

Around 6 a.m.: Scottie Scheffler was detained and handcuffed

Here’s the video captured by ESPN’s Jeff Darlington:

7:28 a.m.: Scheffler is booked by Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections

Around 8:40 a.m.: Scheffler is released

Around 9:13 a.m.: Scheffler walks into Valhalla Golf Club

10:08 a.m.: Scheffler tees off in the second round
