Scottie Scheffler Returns To PGA Tour After Hand Injury

Scottie Scheffler gestures on the 18th green at Pebble Beach Golf Links during the third round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament in Pebble Beach, Calif., Saturday, Feb. 3

Scottie Scheffler recently made his season debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after recovering from a hand injury sustained while making ravioli. The incident occurred during Christmas dinner when he accidentally cut his hand with a wine glass stem while attempting to make pasta from scratch. Despite the mishap, Scheffler expressed gratitude that the injury wasn't more severe.

Following his recovery, Scheffler practiced diligently in cold weather in Dallas to ensure he was ready to return to the PGA Tour. He played practice rounds at Cypress Point and Pebble Beach without any hindrance from the injury.

Scheffler, known for his consistent play, had to miss two tournaments due to his injury, which he found frustrating. However, he used the time to watch golf on TV, including footage of his own wins, to stay connected to the game.

Despite missing some events, Scheffler decided to enter the Pebble Beach tournament and felt confident in his readiness after pushing himself in practice. He expressed his eagerness to get back to competitive play and continue his successful streak from the previous season.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am features a strong field of players, including the notable absence of Xander Schauffele due to a rib injury. The tournament marks the second $20 million signature event of the year with an 80-man field, adding to the competitive atmosphere.

As Scheffler returns to the course, he aims to replicate his impressive performance from the previous season, where he achieved significant success on the PGA Tour. His dedication to recovery and preparation reflects his commitment to maintaining a high level of play.

Overall, Scheffler's return to competition at Pebble Beach signifies his resilience and determination to overcome setbacks, showcasing his passion for the game of golf.
