Scottie Scheffler has provided an update on his return to golf after suffering a bizarre Christmas Day injury making ravioli.
The world No 1 has missed the opening three events of the 2025 PGA Tour season because of the injury.
While crafting his homemade ravioli, the golf star punctured his right palm. This left him with fragments of glass stuck inside his hand.
For a sport where using your hands is imperative it was a costly injury which required an operation to remove the glass.
It means that he will also miss this week’s Farmers Insurance Open event in San Diego – where there is a $9.3m purse with $1.67m going to the winner which he would have been favourite to win.
Scheffler Provides Update After Injury Making Ravioli
Scottie Scheffler has hinted that he could be back in action by the end of the month after suffering his hand injury while making ravioli.
The 28-year-old made light of the situation insisting he is ‘useless’ changing his son Bennett’s diaper’s one-handed.
He went on to joke as per the Daily Mail: “Sometimes you don’t realise how uncoordinated you are until you have to brush your teeth left-handed.”
Scheffler hinted he could return from injury at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California next week.
‘I’m feeling good, everything went well with the surgery,’ Scheffler told reporters.
‘My body feels pretty good. I’m still making decisions on schedule going forward. I should know (in the) next few days to a week whether I’ll be playing next week. Everything’s on schedule.’
Scheffler Looks To Build On Excellent 2024
Scottie Scheffler will hope to enjoy similar success this year to last once he returns from his unusual injury.
He won seven times on the PGA Tour in 2024. He claimed a second Masters green jacket and won Olympic gold at Paris 2024.
His start to 2025 has been far from ideal after getting glass stuck in his hand while making ravioli on Christmas Day.
I *think* this is the first sighting of Scottie Scheffler since he cut his hand on Christmas Day and had to get surgery. Looks like he’s wearing some sort of cover/brace

Scheffler has returned to the gym ahead of his return. A clip posted on Sunday evening by Chirosport TV shows him being put through his paces in a gym session.
He is seen wearing a bandage on his right hand as he performed some overhead lunges with a resistance band to help improve his stability.
