Scott Wright to Birmingham City agreed as Rangers winger set for Ibrox departure

UPDATE: Rangers have confirmed Scott Wright will join Birmingham City on a permanent deal.

A statement on the official Rangers website added: "Scott Wright arrived at Rangers in the winter 2021 window and featured towards the end of that season as Rangers claimed the Scottish Premiership crown.

"He would go on the following year to play in the Europa League final, as well as playing and scoring in the Scottish Cup final win over Hearts.

He also featured in last season’s Premier Sports Cup final win against Aberdeen and in all, made 120 appearances for the club and scored 12 goals.

"Scott leaves Rangers with the best wishes and thanks of everyone at the club."

The Light Blues winger will cost the EFL League One side £300,000, who have already added Rangers' Ben Davies on-loan this week and the permanent acquisition of Scotland star Lyndon Dykes.

The 27-year-old should depart Ibrox before Friday's transfer deadline subject to successfully completing a medical and the necessary paperwork.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has been trying to offload several unwanted players to free up cash for more signings.
