Scott Wright details Michael Beale chats to set Rangers goals

Scott Wright is confident a hands-on approach from Michael Beale will help him thrive for Rangers in the second half of the season.

The winger made his 23rd appearance of the campaign as he came off the bench during the Viaplay Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen on Sunday.

Wright made an impressive impact during the extra-time period and he got an assist to his credit as a darting run saw him set up Kemar Roofe to net the winner at Hampden.

The 25-year-old is now bidding for a start when Beale's side return to Premiership action and make the trip to face Kilmarnock this evening.

And Wright is enjoying life working under the Englishman after being reunited with his former boss on his return to Ibrox last month.

Wright said: "It’s always something I try to do - catch his eye when I get opportunities on the pitch or even in training. I have to be ready when called upon, whether that’s [against Kilmarnock] or down the line.

“It’s been different bits and pieces [we have spoken about], looking at games or at the training. He’s an absolutely fantastic manager and I really enjoy working with him.

"I come in every single day and try to learn and work as hard as possible to try and get my place in the team.

“I knew him vaguely from before, when I had just signed and I had him for a few months and then he moved. It’s great to have him back and he’s given us a lift.

“It’s such a hands-on approach he’s got. The drills he puts on are good and you learn so much from them as he incorporates what we are trying to do in games.

“He’s always got an eye on the next game, how we build up the play and how we want to look in the final third. The sessions are really enjoyable.”
