Scott Van Pelt has hilarious exchange with prominent news report from The New York Post

ESPN's Scott Van Pelt has lost his voice, and he is unfortunately going to be sitting out the Oct. 9 'Monday Night Football' pregame broadcast between the Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders.

Van Pelt broke the news himself on X at 1:05pm, saying that he woke up without a voice the morning after he had already been losing it after his late night SportsCenter show.

"So, we played another fun edition of will Scott’s voice quit before the show ends last night. Unfortunately, I woke up to zero voice at all. Just gone. As a result, no trip to Vegas for Monday Night Countdown or @SportsCenter," Van Pelt tweeted at 1:05 p.m. Eastern Time.

Just seconds later, prominent sports media reporter Andrew Marchand of The New York Post attempted to break the news of Van Pelt's absence on the "Monday Night Football broadcast.

"Scott Van Pelt is out tonight for MNF Countdown has he has lost his voice, according to sources," Marchand tweeted, also timestamped at 1:05 p.m. Eastern Time.

Marchand is a prominent reporter in the sports media space, breaking plenty of the news surrounding ESPN including during a very tumultuous summer for the network.

Two minutes after his tweet, the Emmy-nominated studio host jabbed at the "sources" of Marchand's tweet by responding, "You mean, the tweet I sent ?"

But the exchange seemed cordial, with Marchand replying jokingly to Van Pelt by congratulating him on "the scoop." He also advised the sick studio host to "drink some tea."

Van Pelt replied by recognizing him and his team's effort to help him, and thanked Marchand for his concern.

"I did all show last night. Our crew is great and they tried to help me out. Appreciate your concern as well," Van Pelt said.

ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' pregame telecast will continue without one of its biggest names and will be led by Joe Buck and his wife, Michelle Beisner-Buck, a story reported by Marchand.
