Scott McTominay suffers injury blow amid Scotland reunion

Scott McTominay suffered an injury blow while playing for Napoli last night.

Scotland's talisman picked up a knock 10 minutes after half time.

The attacking midfielder was involved in a collision with Bologna's Jens Odgaard.

The former Manchester United player was able to return to the field, however, he was forced to make way for fellow Scot Billy Gilmour a short while later.

Napoli's assistant manager, Cristian Stellini, said post-match: "Scott took a blow to the thigh and a blow to the side, he went out because he couldn't run anymore. He went out in severe pain."

Napoli played out a 1-1 draw with Bologna at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

The game should've seen McTominay go up against Lewis Ferguson.

However, the Scotland star was forced to pull out of the match after sustaining an injury to his right thigh during the warm-up.

The ex-Hamilton and Aberdeen player was replaced in the starting XI by Michel Aebischer.

Bologna have yet to reveal the extent of their captain's injury.

Steve Clarke will be hoping it's nothing serious for either Ferguson or McTominay ahead of the next round of international fixtures in June.
