Scott McTominay has opened up on one positive trait Erik ten Hag has already displayed since his Manchester United reign began - something Ole Gunnar Solskjaer always struggled with.
Former Ajax man Ten Hag is currently away on his first pre-season tour as manager of the Red Devils out in Thailand before the squad head to Australia in the coming days. It has provided the 52-year-old with a real chance to properly bond with his new recruits before they try and bounce back from the horror show that was last season.
Speaking ahead of their first summer friendly against long-time rivals Liverpool, McTominay shed light on his dealings with the new manager so far and identified one key trait Ten Hag is already excelling at.
"He's got an idea of the way he wants to play, and he executes it really, really well in terms of getting across to the players," said McTominay.
"It’s the same with [assistant coach] Mitchell [van der Gaag]. The philosophy and the ideas of the style of play for us [are] clear to see. It's up to us as players now to really take the message on board and push with everything we’ve got, all year."
United fans will be rejoicing at McTominay's initial assessment of the new boss given Solskjaer's apparent inability to relay his message as concisely as possible cost the Norwegian so many points and eventually his job as Red Devils manager.
Some reports suggested the United players harboured doubts over Solskjaer's level of tactical insight for as long as two years prior to his sacking in November 2021.

Key players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and club captain Harry Maguire were three notable names to hold lengthy discussions with the former Red Devils manager and plot how to get out of the rut they found themselves in.
In stark contrast, McTominay's glowing review of the new man at the helm did not stop there. He called for optimism from everyone associated with the club due to the impact the new set of coaches have had on the players already.
"Now is the time to be optimistic," the Scotland international told United Daily. "We're really looking forward to what's to come because the way the coaches have presented their ideas to all the players and all the staff is very promising for sure."
Ten Hag has reportedly already drawn up a list of new rules for United's players, which include players being dropped should they arrive late, a ban of private chefs and a demand that sees individuals raise issues with Ten Hag himself - not their agents or through the media.
