Scott McTominay faces Manchester United transfer cull as Erik Ten Hag 'intent' on offloading him and three others

Scott McTominay could be facing a cull from Manchester United with Erik Ten Hag moving the furniture at Old Trafford around majorly.

The Dutch boss is 'intent' on shipping off some current United stars before the new campaign in the Premier League. One high-profile exit is looking likely to be defender Harry Maguire, who has faced some heavy criticism from Red Devils fans since becoming the side's skipper. The England international has been reportedly told by Gareth Southgate that he needs top level football to secure his place in the Euro 2024, with the option of a switch to Tottenham slipping away with Ange Postecoglou nearing a deal to bring Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg.

Fred and Jadon Sancho, according to the Independent, are also named in the potential overhaul at Carrington. Both have interest from other Premier League clubs but Scotland hero McTominay has something of a transfer battle on his hands. The report claims both West Ham United and Saudi-backed Newcastle United are chasing the 26-year-old. The midfielder was on fire for Steve Clarke's side and could have turned heads with huge showings against Spain and Norway.

The United academy product penned a five-year deal in 2020 and would garner a significant transfer fee but the report states the main roadblock for United selling players in years gone by has been the high wages and fees of their talent. It's being said Mikel Arteta and Arsenal will plan the same flavour of clear-out.

Celtic hero Kieran Tierney could join his Scotland pal in moving this summer, with the left-back said to also have taken the eye of Eddie Howe and Newcastle. Tierney has made 100 appearances in North London but fallen somewhat out of favour in Arteta's plans with Oleksandr Zinchenko playing the majority of games last season as the Gunners fell out of the title race.
