Scott Disick 'will always have regrets' about the way he treated Kourtney Kardashian

Scott Disick "will always have regrets" about how he treated Kourtney Kardashian in their near decade-long relationship as he focuses on learning from past mistakes.

The former couple started dating in 2006 and they went on to have three children together — Mason, 12, Penelope, 10, and Reign, seven. They had an on-and-off relationship for almost 10 years before splitting for good in 2015.

43-year-old Kourtney has cited Scott's sobriety battles and substance abuse problems as the reason for their split.

Scott, 39, remains on good terms with the Kardashian family, with Kourtney's mum Kris Jenner previously insisting Scott will always be part of their family.

Speaking about his relationship with Kourtney, an insider said: "Scott will always have regrets about how he treated Kourtney and handled their relationship."

"He is focusing on moving on, accepting his faults, and trying to learn from his mistakes," they told Entertainment Tonight.

Kourtney has since settled down with drummer Travis Barker and Scott is said to be happy for his ex-girlfriend. The source said Scott would like to get married himself one day, although that isn't at the top of his agenda.

They added: "The Kardashians still talk to him almost all the time and they see each other relatively frequently. It isn't a toxic situation for anyone in the family."

Scott has taken a step back from the limelight recently to try and focus on his mental health and is said to have 'stepped up' his therapy.

"Scott's break up and past issues with Kourtney and his parents' deaths have deeply affected him.

"Although it didn't always show up in a negative way, there are things he's constantly had to battle and live with that don't go away overnight," a source told US Weekly.

Scott, who lost his parents within three months of each other, struggled with substance abuse and alcoholism during his nine year relationship with Kourtney.

He previously checked into a facility in May 2020 to work on his issues including 'past traumas'. He later left due to a privacy issue.

He was also reportedly put on a 5150 psychiatric hold in 2017 after several stints in rehab, according to US Weekly.
