Scott Arfield admits he understands his role at Rangers but that won't stop him from wanting to continue playing for the club.
The veteran midfielder was quizzed on his future at Ibrox with his deal expiring at the end of this season, after the 34-year-old penned an extension following the conclusion of last season. But Arfield has already shown boss Michael Beale what he can do after single-handedly salvaging three points against Aberdeen in late fashion last week.
But the Ibrox stalwart does join teammates Ryan Jack and crocked Steven Davis in uncertain futures with the veteran middlemen all in the final stages of deals in Glasgow. Arfield himself admits he has 'no problems' with the role he plays at Rangers and says contract talks are not his key focus.
He said: "I'd love to stay here for as long as possible. Whether that be in any capacity - I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here since I walked through the door and I want to keep them moments coming."
On new talks: "No, not at the minute. When you get over 30 those talks stop. That's just football, it's just life. You have to take every opportunity day-by-day. You're not as big an asset anymore so it's important to stay in your lane and know where you are at this minute in time. I've got no problem with that."
