Scott Arfield 'can't wait' for post-Rangers MLS adventure as he sends short online address

Scott Arfield 'can't wait' to get his MLS adventure underway as he posted a short message online.

The former Rangers ace has penned a contract with Charlotte FC after his Ibrox deal expired in the summer and wasn't renewed. He was one of five stars to exit the club alongside the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

Boss Michael Beale admitted that the Arfield decision was one of the hardest but in the end it was best for both the club and player that he moved on. The 34-year-old had some big moments last term including his super-sub appearance against Aberdeen to score twice in added time to complete a stunning Pittodrie comeback.

He was also on target in the Champions League group stage against Liverpool at Ibrox with the forward-thinking star a main feature from the bench. All in he scored nine goals and provided one assist in 43 appearances.

The wait to find a new club wasn't a long one for the veteran who will now reunite with his former Burnley team-mate and good pal Ashley Westwood in the USA.

Arfield has had many well wishers over his transfer and he took to social media to thank them all. Alongside an image of him holding his new club shirt he wrote: "Massive thank you for the love. Can't wait to get going."

John Lundstram - his now ex-Rangers colleague - is clearly not over the exit as he posted a number of broken heart emojis in reply to his post.

Jermain Defoe also wrote: "Good luck bro love ya."

Steven Davis commented: "Go on son."
