Action movie star and John Wick: Chapter 4 actor Scott Adkins recently expressed his criticism of the use of CGI in the remake of Road House. Adkins, known for his prowess in the action genre, took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the film. While he praised aspects of the movie, such as the direction by Doug Liman and the acting debut of UFC fighter Conor McGregor, he was disappointed by the reliance on CGI in the fight scenes.
The Road House remake employed a technique that involved replacing the actors with pillows during fight sequences, allowing for more impactful punches and reactions. While this method has been used in various productions before, Adkins felt that it was not effectively utilized in Road House.
Directed by Doug Liman, the film is a reimagining of the 80s cult classic and follows ex-UFC fighter Dalton, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, as he becomes a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse. The cast also includes Conor McGregor, Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, and others.
Scott Adkins, who has a strong presence in the action genre, has several projects in the works, including roles in One More Shot, Lights Out, The Killer’s Game, Skyline: Warpath, Diablo, and Kickboxer: Armaggedon.
Road House is now available for streaming on Prime Video, offering viewers a fresh take on the beloved classic with a talented cast and innovative fight sequences.
