A walker has been airlifted to hospital following a 'complex and technical' rescue. Rescuers were called to Buachaille Etive Mor in Glencoe following reports that a person had suffered injuries near the top of the mountain.
Two teams of volunteers located the casualty who was stuck around 800m up the hill. Rescuers moved the walker to allow for a 'casualty carer' to be lowered from a waiting helicopter to assess the injuries.
They were deemed to have 'minor injuries' and were airlifted to hospital for further assessment. Images from the scene show Mountain Rescue teams working in pitch-black conditions as they secured the hiker using ropes.
A spokesperson for Glencoe Mountain Rescue said: "Volunteers were recently called out to a climber who had fallen near the top of a route on Buachaille Etive Mor. Fortunately, it was a good night for flying and R199 was available.
"The casualty who was found to have minor injuries was then lifted from the hill by 199 and taken to hospital. The team then packed up and walked off the hill.
"Thank you as always for the professionalism and efficiency of the crew on R199. We wish the casualty a swift and full recovery, and hopefully see you on the hill again soon."
