A young promising footballer diagnosed with a rare form of cancer vowed the disease "would not take his hair" as he decided to shave it off himself.
Ryan Thomson, 14, is being treated for Hodgkin Lymphoma, a cancer that develops in the lymphatic system.
We told how the footballing community has rallied round the Stenhousemuir FC Community Team Player following his tragic diagnosis.
A GoFundMe page has also been stet up, which has raised over £1,000.
Ryan started his first course of treatment last week, and decided he wanted to be in control of his hair loss, opting to shave it off in a video.
The footage, posted on a Twitter account created for people to follow his journey, shows the young lad holding clippers before taking them to his head.
In it Ryan says: "Cancer's no takin ma hair. A will."
Social media users have been quick to respond, sending their well wishes to the brave youngster.
One person said: "I don’t need to know Ryan to say that I’m proud of him! He is the reason why we have hope!
"My nephew was not so lucky to fight this monster @DIFDCharity so Ryan gives me hope! God bless him and I send my love!
Another wrote: "What a brave boy...forever got a smile on his face in his videos and pictures. Rooting for him so much."
A third commented: "Well done lad, what a boy :) All the best wee man."
