Scots Team GB ice skater Lewis Gibson reminisced about his early days of learning to skate at Ayr Ice Rink - and meeting Lorraine Kelly for the first time at Seamill Hydro.
Lewis, with his skating partner Lilah Fear, is a two-time Grand Prix bronze medalist, a three-time Challenger medalist, the 2018 Bavarian Open champion, and a four-time British national champion (2017, 2019–2020, 2022).
He was appearing on ITV's Lorraine earlier today with Lilah when he talked about the first time he'd ever met iconic TV presenter Lorraine.
The former Prestwick Academy student said: "I met Lorraine before at a launch event in Seamill Hydro. I remember the ice rink was plastic. It wasn't real ice- about eleven years ago - just at the beginning of my journey into sport."
Lewis, who is competing in the Beijing Olympics, also revealed he had a message of support form Torvill and Dean and told how they initially inspired him.
He joked: "The break a leg thing doesn't work so well in our sport."
Lewis also said he remembered "coming from football, a completely different sport and watching the tv show Dancing On Ice and thinking these celebs having so much fun and I wanted that for myself".
He added: "I went to my local rink and now I'm here."
Lewis revealed he and Lilah will be "skating to a Kiss medley" which he admitted was "a little out there for figure skating world".
He added: "We love whole theatrics of it and it's a few days after skating to Lion King."
