Scots singer Joesef's new album Permanent Damage hits number one in charts days after release

Scots singer Joesef only released his new album on Friday and it is already a high-flyer.

Permanent Damage is currently sitting at number one on the iTunes chart and number 2 on the Spotify Top Album Debut chart - after fans went wild for it.

The Glaswegian singer has been absolutely buzzing at the reaction from the new album, which is an absolutely stunning compilation of songs inspired by his life in Glasgow and even contains personal voice notes from his mum.

And as Permanent Damage continues to climb the charts, it looks like Joesef, who supported Paolo Nutini at the Hydro last month, is heading for the official charts.

The Official Charts tweeted: "Look out for Scottish alt-pop star @joesefjoesef who is heading for this first Official Chart entry with debut album, Permanent Damage."

And the East End Coast singer tweeted: "number 1 on itunes yous are all mad ffs."

The singer hosted a music video launch last night at Glasgow's Platform following the release of the much anticipated album.

He released four beautifully shot music videos to go alongside four tracks from the album and during a Q&A with Scots comedian Paul Black and director Luis Hindman, said he was heavily inspired by Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting.

He even had his own stall at the Barras on Saturday to sell CDs, records and cassettes which sold out in a matter of hours.
