Scots schoolgirl who went missing near Stirling traced 'safe and well'

A schoolgirl who disappeared from the Stirling area, prompting a frantic police search, has been found 'safe and well'.

Chloe Montgomery, 14, was reported missing from Cowie, Stirling. Concerns were growing for the teen, with cops asking for the public's help as part of their ongoing enquiries to trace her.

Now, officers have confirmed that the youngster has been located, and that the search has subsequently been stood down.

Confirming the news on social media, a spokesperson for Forth Valley Police Division wrote: "We can confirm that Chloe Montgomery, aged 14, reported missing from the Cowie area of Stirling has been traced safe and well.

"Thank you to everyone who shared and responded to our appeal."
