Staff at the East Dunbartonshire school sent a text message to some parents, letting them know that some pupils would be sent home later than usual, reports the Glasgow Times.

"Pupils were mustered for safety as a precaution and were dismissed slightly later than usual once the issue was investigated and the building was deemed safe to re-enter.

“During the evacuation two males were spotted within the school grounds and were asked to leave. They did so without incident however their presence is now being investigated."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3pm on Friday, 10 February, 2023, we received a report of two male youths acting suspiciously near to a school on Inveroran Drive, Bearsden.

“Officers attended, and advice and guidance was provided to staff. “Enquiries are ongoing."
