Scots residents urged to 'check sheds' as urgent search for missing man continues

Residents in Cullen are being urged to check their sheds as cops continue to search for a missing man.

Alan Murray hasn't been seen since around 11.30pm on Saturday, February 26, in the Seatown area near Grant Street.

Police say the 54-year-old disappearance is 'out of character', with his family growing increasingly concerned for him.

Cops are urging anyone with information to come forward and have urged locals to check private CCTV, doorbell cameras and dascham footage.

Residents are also being asked to check inside sheds and outbuildings.

Alan is described as around 5ft 10ins tall and of stocky build, with fair hair.

He was last seen wearing a pink shirt, black jacket, orange snood, dark jeans and ankle boots.

Sergeant Kate Costin of Elgin Police Station said: “It is out of character for Alan not to be in contact with his family and we are growing increasingly concerned for him.

“I would urge anyone who believes they may have seen him at any time since Saturday night or who has any other information to come forward.

“We would also urge people who live around the Grant Street area in Cullen to review any private CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage you may have. I would also ask anyone who has a shed or outbuilding where someone could seek shelter to check this.

“Anyone with information can call 101, using reference 2576 of 27 February 2022.”
