A Scots mum has been left "angry and helpless" after her boiler packed up and water began accumulating in her ceiling.
Fiona Feng, 33, has been without hot water for almost a month in the flat she shares with her husband and two children in Leith, Edinburgh. Despite reporting it to property managers, Belvoir, the issue is yet to be fixed.
Her woes have been compounded by a leak from the property above hers, which has caused her ceiling to sag in several places. A handyman came out and cut a hole in the ceiling to inspect the damage but as yet, neither the boiler nor the leak have been fixed.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Fiona said: "Since June 12, we've had no hot water. An engineer came to look at it but said the boiler was too old and has put a 'danger' notice on it.
"Then on June 27, my husband noticed a leak in the bathroom and we reported it to Belvoir Perth, who also manage the flat above as well as ours. I need hot water so my children and family can have showers.
"We don't know what to do. I just feel helpless and angry."
Images show water dripping from the man-made hole in the ceiling, while damp patches are appearing elsewhere in the room and down the walls in the bathroom. In another room, the ceiling is sagging from the weight of the leak above.
Fiona is at her wit's end - and has resorted to placing buckets around her home to catch the water until Belvoir fixes the issues. Belvoir maintains that it is endeavouring to do so.
A spokesperson for the agency said: "Belvoir Perth are looking into matters and I do know that trades have been on site investigating and resolving the immediate leak - with the possibility of an insurance claim thereafter for an escape of water.
"Belvoir will reach out to the tenant to provide further assistance and reassurance. We are experienced property managers and we are doing our very best to have this resolved."
