A Scots mum has been left heartbroken after her 'beloved' nine-year-old daughter died after battling a brain tumour.
Little Faye Taylor, from Craigneuk, Wishaw, was diagnosed with a tumour deep in her brain stem in May, which affected one side of her body.
The Berryhill Primary youngster underwent an intense course of radiotherapy in a bid to slow the progression of her tumour, but sadly she passed away on Wednesday night.
Devastated mum Elaine broke the tragic news of her daughter's passing on Facebook yesterday.
She wrote: "Can’t find the words but tonight we lost our beloved Faye. RIP Faye
"Heaven has gained another angel."
Faye began complaining to mum Elaine of a sore head and pains in her left leg, arm and hand on May 15.
Mum-of-four Elaine was convinced her daughter was having a stroke and called 999.
She was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital before being later transferred to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow, where her family were told her shock diagnosis.
Elaine, 50, has been keeping family and friends up to date with Faye's cancer battle on social media since.
Posting days before her daughter's death, Elaine said: "Update on Faye.
"Faye is at home and is now in a hospital bed in the living-room full time connected to both a feeding tube and a driver for constant pain relief.
"We have nurses coming in and out throughout the day and people from CHAS speaking to the kids in preparation for their sisters death.
"Words cannot describe how absolutely devastated we all are as a family and to watch your child knowing they are dying in front of you is horrific as you start to question why us why our child/sister/niece/granddaughter/goddaughter.
"Faye we love you baby girl.
"You're a tough determined cookie and we all love you very very much
"If love could cure you you would live for eternity my girl."
The Taylor family previously said they had been overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of locals since Faye's diagnosis after a fundraiser was set-up to help raise funds for her to make memories.
Before breaking up for the summer holidays, a number of schools held fundraising activities including Faye’s classmates at Berryhill Primary.
Faye’s dad Gavin and brother also Lewis took part in a 15k walk around Strathclyde Park.
