Scots man missing for over 24 hours last spotted at Waverley train station

Police have released new CCTV images of a Fife man who was reported missing on Friday after he was spotted on camera in Edinburgh.

Officers initially believed Gary Robinson, 43, had last been seen in the Park Lea area of Rosyth at around 7.30am on Friday May 12. But on Saturday afternoon detectives investigating his disappearance released fresh footage of Gary at Waverley train station in the Scots capital.

They are now looking into the possibility that he may have taken a train and travelled down south after being spotted at the station at around 6am on Saturday May 13. Gary is said to have connections to both London and Dorset.

The missing man is described as around 5ft 8in tall, of stocky, muscular build with a close-shaven head and neatly trimmed beard. He is described as wearing a red polo top, blue jeans and light brown boots. He is also carrying a black backpack.

Sergeant Alexander Brydon, of Dalgety Bay Police Station, said: “I am appealing for Gary to get in touch with us. His friends and family are extremely concerned and just want him home safe and well.

"We have a number of police resources and are liaising with our policing counterparts, in trying to locate Gary. I am now looking for the assistance from the public."

He added: "Gary, if you see this, please get in touch with the police."

Members of the public who believe they may have seen Gary or have any information as to his whereabouts are asked to contact 101 quoting incident no 3164 of May 12 2023.
