Lizzo blew the roof off Glasgow's OVO Hydro last night - but some fans branded her comments about "famous flutes in Glasgow" a "bad move".
The singing sensation, who kicked off her highly anticipated Special Tour in Scotland on Wednesday, belted out her popular hits as she glittered on stage in a golden jumpsuit.
But as she showed off her famous flute, she asked the crowd: "Y'all got any famous flutes in Glasgow? That I could desecrate by twerking and playing at the same time? Know historical flutes, do ya?"
Members of the audience were not impressed with the comments, thought to be about the historical links between the musical instrument and the Orange Order movement in Scotland.
One fan wrote: "Think somebody should probably have explained to @lizzo the significance of cracking out a flute solo at a Glasgow gig…"
Another added: "Lizzo, bestie whipping out the flute in glasgow was a bad move."
While one added: "Not Lizzo asking if anyone in Glasgow plays the flute."
Another penned: "Going to see Lizzo later - the only time I'll be excited at the prospect of seeing someone in Glasgow play a flute."
We reported earlier the If You Love Me singer helped one smitten couple propose during the show, but the seemingly sweet encounter left fans "cringing."
The Grammy award-winning star was mid-performance when a woman held her phone up to the huge screens with the words: "Ask my brother's boyfriend to marry him."
Lizzo brought the venue to a halt and asked crew to hold a microphone up to the man's mouth, when he said: "Will you marry me?" The venue erupted with huge cheers and claps, before he added: "For the love of god, just say yes."
Lizzo then asked: "What do you say?," to which the man replied "yes". The singer then shouted into the crowd: "Can we get a f****** yes". She later congratulated the happy couple.
From Glasgow, Lizzo's tour will move on to play shows in Birmingham, Manchester and London, before moving on to the tour’s European leg.
Meanwhile, she has also been announced to perform at Glastonbury this year to play immediately before US rock legends Guns N' Roses take the main spotlight as headlining act.
She will join over 50 acts which comes as Co-organiser Emily Eavis told the BBC she aimed for gender balance and this year they had a female headline but “she unfortunately had to pull out”.
She added: “It changes all the time. But next year it’s looking like we’ve got two female headliners, so fingers crossed.”
Lizzo's PR management have been contacted by the Daily Record for comment.
