A walker has been rescued after 'taking unwell' on the Isle of Mull. Emergency services were called to a popular trail near the Island's Rubha nan Gall lighthouse at around 12.30pm on Friday, May 12, after members of the public raised the alarm.
RNLI Tobermory's Y boat and a local coastguard rescue team were called to the area to assist medics due to the remote nature of the area. Crews were forced to negotiate shallow water and rocks to reach the casualty.
Images from the scene show the walker being stretchered to a waiting rescue craft before being transferred to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. The condition of the walker is currently unknown.
Tobermory RNLI Deputy Coxswain Dave Underwood said: ‘This was a great example of multi-agency working alongside our colleagues from Tobermory Coastguard Rescue Team and the Scottish Ambulance Service. All of us at Tobermory RNLI wish the walker a very speedy recovery’.
