Scots engineer Robbie MacIsaac aims to impress as he heads for BBC Dragons' Den

A Scots engineer - who created his own business at the age of 14 - believes he has what it takes to impress on Dragons' Den next week.

Robbie MacIsaac, who is from Falkirk and currently studying at Strathclyde University, landed the title of the UK's Most Innovative Young Engineer when he was 17.

He plays the bagpipes and has combined his skills in music and engineering to invented the FLUX Blowpipe, an attachment for the instrument that absorbs excess condensation from a pipers breath.

The 22-year-old, founder of FLUX Solutions, was a schoolboy when he first invented the device before it later launched on the market back in 2020.

In 2016, Robbie was given the honour of bringing the final T in the Park at Strathallan Castle to a close with a spectacular solo pipe performance.

FLUX Solutions have customers in countries across the globe including the UK, Germany, France, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The company website says: "The all new Chrome Bore stays cooler for longer and condenses more moisture from the breath. It is also more resistant to corrosion.

"The new specially engineered Needlefelt cloth absorbs 4x more moisture than Silica beads used in other systems. It absorbs moisture over a longer period, meaning it can be kept in for longer without needing changed. It can also be squeezed out, dried and reused over 120 times."

Dragons' Den airs on BBC One Scotland on Thursday February 2, at 8pm.
