A rising Scots DJ has spoken of the "unreal" experience of playing sets in Ibiza alongside superstar Idris Elba - as fellow Scot Calvin Harris watched on.
Hannah Laing has twice joined the Luther actor as a support act for his residency slots at top club Hï Ibiza in recent weeks. The Dundonian DJ, who still works full time as a dental nurse, was even invited by the renowned star to go "back-to-back" - where two spin doctors mix music at the same time for the crowd.
And as well as grabbing a cheeky selfie, Hannah wrapped up her most recent set on Saturday August 20 with an audience that included dance music supremo Harris. The Scots music sensation lives on the Spanish island and was watching on from the side-lines as she enthralled the club crowd.
Elba has been playing the club every weekend throughout the summer as part of an 18-week long residency. Hannah told the Record she had been invited to support the actor- who was once tipped to be the next James Bond - by club management, but added that she hadn't expected the personal invitation to spin the decks alongside him as he started his own set.
She said: "It's absolutely mental - he is such a cool guy. The club asked me to do two support dates but the back-to-back was completely unplanned.
"He was about to take over from me but had been watching me DJ for a bit - as I was about to hand over he said I was a brilliant DJ and asked if wanted to go back to back. He is such a gentleman as well.
"He was really supportive, even though I was pure nervous, so complimentary and reassuring me that I was doing a good job. I'm still not over it - I can't even process it."
As well as being a renowned actor, Elba has flexed his creative muscle in the music industry, having DJ'd since he was a teenager. He has collaborated with the likes of Jay-Z and Macklemore - and mixed the worlds of music and acting when he starred as a DJ in the Netflix series Turn Up Charlie.
Hannah added that she only realised Harris had dropped by to watch part of her most recent set after she had finished - and spotted the Scots superstar with fiancée Vick Hope in the corner. Harris has a residency at another top Ibiza club across the street, Ushuaïa, for the summer.
She added: "When I came off the decks I didn't know he was there - just standing in the booth. I was so nervous I didn't even say anything, but it was absolutely crazy."
And while her run of Ibiza shows is coming to a close DJ Hannah still has plenty of shows coming up. After a rapturous set at TRNSMT's Boogie Bar in July, she will be performing for up to 20,000 people at Creamfields festival - one of the most prestigious dance music events in the country - at the weekend and a number of other events before the summer ends.
She summed up: "I didn't think I'd ever be playing Creamfields but I can't wait - it's going to be my biggest ever gig, no question. It's been absolutely mental this summer and it's still not over."
