An Edinburgh dad has paid an emotional tribute to his 'beautiful, blue-eyed boy' who tragically took his own life.
Devastated Declan Gubby said he has been left with a massive hole in his heart following 18-year-old Connor's passing on Friday, March 4.
Declan said his son died after a battle with his mental health.
Posting to social media, Declan wrote: "My beautiful blue eyed baby boy kicked his way with a football to heaven at 3:50pm today.
"His body failed and he chose to give up his fight with mental health and he chose when his time was."
Declan said if love could have saved his son, the youngster would have lived until he was 200-years-old.
His post continued: "It wasn’t ever your time yet my boy and I wish you had seen that sooner and spoken up.
"You were so loved and all your friends and family adored you.
"He has left a massive hole in my heart and if love could have saved you then you would’ve lived until you were 200 years old.
"Even with struggles Connor lived his best life and was loved by everyone.
"I hope I made him proud I was his dad, we were a great team.
"The day I watched you take your first breath and when you came along was the best moment of my life and it made me so proud and changed my life forever.
"You gave me the best 18 years of loving you but watching you take your last breathe today was the hardest day of my life and I don’t think I’ll ever know how to live without you.
"Rest easy baby."
Connor's sad death comes just days after his final social media post.
Sharing a post that read, "This is not a life worth living", he captioned it, 'tired'.
Posting underneath a worried friend wrote: "You got this. I promise I love you, don’t forget that."
Another said: "Yes it is, you got this bro."
