An exciting new event is set to transform a city-centre car park into a "realistic beach" this summer.
Clyde Island presents Summer Beach Festival is heading to Glasgow in July and will be bringing a fairground inspired by New York’s Coney Island.
Featuring fairground rides and attractions alongside a large beach and beach club complete with a cocktail bar, the event will also feature live entertainment and plenty of deck chairs to recline in.
Running from July 15 to August 7, the Festival will be taking over the NCP King Street car park, becoming the first event to bring a real beach to Glasgow city centre just in time for the school holidays.
The event will have a curated food and drink market, offering the best in Scotland’s street food for the duration of the four weeks over summer.
Creative director of Clyde Island, Callum Broome, stated that as the cost of living starts to affect families across the country, the team behind Galactic Carnival and Spookacular are looking to create a family and purse-friendly event that will "bring the seaside to Glasgow city centre".
He said: “We have seen costs spiral across the country so we wanted to bring a little happiness with a Summer Beach Festival for those staycationing this year in Glasgow, with a fantastic food, drink and ride selection."
The fairground will include a selection of thrill, family and children’s rides for the duration of the event.
There will also be a giant wheel, standing at 42m, which will tower over the city, offering spectacular views.
Mr Broome added that all of the rides and attractions will operate on a token system allowing attendees to pick and choose what they would like to go on.
Running seven days per week from 10 am to 10 pm, discounted tickets are now available online.
