A massive thunderstorm in Inverness has caused the roofs of the Vue Cinema and Tesco Extra to partially collapse due to the rain.
Footage has appeared on social media showing some of the damage as water drips and pours in through the gaps in the buildings' ceilings.
Smashed tiles lay in the water-logged aisles of the supermarket, in Inshes Retail Park, as the water continues to pour in from above. Firefighters were called to attend after reports of flooding within the Tesco store.
The thunderstorm arrived in Inverness this afternoon, causing flooding in the city and surrounding area.
One shopper said on social media that when the tiles in Tesco began to fall, people ran out of the exit in a panic, as the rain leaked in. Staff and customers were seen wading through huge puddles as they left the store.
It is not known if anyone has been hurt in the incident. It is understood that the Tesco store will reopen tomorrow afternoon.
Footage has also appeared of the incident at the Vue, which is situated in Inverness Retail Park just off the A96. The downpour caused a huge puddle to develop within the atrium of the picture house, as shocked movie lovers looked on.
It is understood it will remain shut until further notice as the damage is assessed. Vue Cinemas have been approached for comment.
A Tesco Spokesperson said: "Our Inverness Inshes Extra store is temporarily closed while we assess some damage to the roof. We're sorry for any inconvenience. We're working to reopen as soon as possible.”
The Met Office updated its serious weather warning on Saturday, with storms to continue causing disruption across the whole of the UK on Monday.
Stormy weather could bring disruption in some places, alongside flooding, and some cancellation to trains and buses, while forecasters said up to 50mm of rain and hail could also fall.
