Scots cafe owner has gone viral after posting a controversial job advert that urged ' Covid mask wearers' and 'self-testers' not to apply.
Aberdeen restaurant Cafe 52, posted a listing on jobs site Indeed looking for £10-an-hour table waiting staff to join their 27 year old company.
But the job had has been slammed after it warned of people the boss 'cannot stand' to stay away.
The advert read: "The owner cannot stand preciousness, virtue signalling, mask wearing, Guardian readers, liars, lazy b*******, and self testers.
It continued: "Hospitality is a wonderful industry and but only when staff pull together and leave their egos in their lockers."
Owner Steve Bothwell told the Record he had no regrets about the job advertisement.
The post was spotted on by one eagle eye Twitter user who went viral after sharing it online.
The tweet has almost 3,000 likes as social media users slammed the posting.
One person said: “Embarrassing that in this day and age anyone would think it OK to sneer at customers and openly advertise that their conditions of work are so appalling.
A second person tweeted: “In other words, if you care about others don't apply.”
A third person said: “Cafe 52 was a big part of my 20s and it’s always been ace to think of it still being there.
“What a shame it’s lost its intelligent, chilled-out edge along the years. I won’t be back.”
A fourth person tweeted: “Such a shame because it really is an excellent cafe restaurant.”
Speaking to the Daily Record he said: "I don't regret the wording [of the job advert, but I wish people would get on their pins about more important issues.
"I'm not banning anyone. The advert was tongue in cheek."
He added: "I've had three good applications this morning off the back of the advert."
