A bridesmaid in a Scottish town has tragically been found dead in Moray weeks before her best friend's wedding.
Rhiannan Flaws, 25, died after attending her friend Holly Mayne's blackening, a Scottish tradition before couples tie the knot, on Sunday June 18, reports The Sun.
Heartbroken dad Wayne Flaws, 47, said: “I’m in pain like something I’ve never felt. I’m completely broken. I love you Rhiannan. My heart is sore.”
Rhiannan was set to be a big part of friend Holly's wedding in Aberdeenshire, in August. She posted a picture of her hugging Rhiannan in the back of a lorry at her blackening.
She said: “My best friend. You were one in a million. Heartbroken.”
It is understood Rhiannan was a production technician in the oil industry with BP, and engaged to fiancée Jaye Hardie.
Her brother Macauly Flaws, 28, said after her death: “Shouldn’t be having to do this. I love you so, so much Rhiannan and I’m the proudest big brother of you. I’m heartbroken and numb.”
Friends also paid their tributes. Heather Thomson said: “Such a beautiful young lady. She had achieved so much and had so much more to give.”
Niamh Paterson said: "Such a special friend with so many good memories together. Love you so much. Truly one of a kind.”
Kaitlyn Innes added: “She was the life and soul. Memories for life.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 6.45am on Sunday, June 18, police were called to an address in Seafield Circle, Buckie.
“A 25-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are continuing however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
